LACE Housing as Committed as Ever to its Residents
Lincolnshire-based LACE Housing is reassuring the public that it is continuing to support its residents and staff throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
As a member of the National Housing Federation (NHF), LACE Housing is championing the statement that’s been issued by the body this morning (Friday) in response to the crisis.
The organisation specialises in the provision of housing with varying degrees of support and services for over 55s in Lincolnshire, who are some of those most at risk from contracting COVID-19.
The three main steps outlined in the NHF’s statement which are being taken by housing associations throughout the UK, including LACE Housing, are: keeping people secure at home, helping people to get the support they need, and acting compassionately and quickly where people are struggling.

Led by Chief Executive Nick Chambers, the LACE Housing team have been closely monitoring the fast-moving situation and are regularly meeting remotely to ensure the continuity of as many of its services as possible.
This has enabled them to adapt their offering and continue responding to residents’ needs quickly.
While restaurants are no longer in operation as normal at its housing with extra care schemes, staff are delivering home-made hot meals to residents’ doorsteps in recyclable containers.
Residents who don’t have access to a LACE Housing restaurant are being signposted to Age UK Lincoln and South Lincolnshire’s offer with Salted Orange Food Company.
Meanwhile, since LACE Housing’s central office closed, staff who are now working from home have been providing regular social telephone calls to residents, if requested, to mitigate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
“This pandemic is providing us with an opportunity to review our service offerings and how we respond to residents’ needs,” said Nick.
“Although these are challenging times for us all, our success continues to be very much down to our people and partnerships – now more than ever – and we are receiving an overwhelming level of support.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved, from within and outside of the association, for their hard work and determination to get through this together.”
