Redundancy Support for Employers and Employees

Jobcentre Plus will provide support and advice to employers and employees in redundancy situations through its Rapid Response Service.

Support could include:

– helping people facing redundancy to write CVs and find jobs

– providing general information about benefits

– helping people to find the right training and learn new skills

– helping with costs like travel to work expenses

There are a number of local and national advice and support. Some delivered directly by DWP and others including Careers Advice, ESF training schemes, or support through your local council.  DWP works with those schemes to signpost in the most appropriate way.

– Search free ‘Find a job’ service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

– Contact new “Help to Claim” service.  Telephone , online or face to face advice for people needing to access Universal Credit: www.citizensadvice.org.uk/helptoclaim   0800 144 8 444 (calls are free and lines open 8am-6pm, Mon to Friday)
