Flooring, furniture and decorating fund helps Ongo tenants most in need to make their house a home

Ongo has supported 291 households, experiencing financial hardship, with grants for essential household items and improvements through Glasspool funding. Glasspool, a UK wide charity, awarded Ongo £150,000 for the Improving Lives project, with a further £30,000 set to be spent in the coming months. This has allowed tenants to purchase essential items including flooring, carpets, furniture, household goods and decorating materials. Those who have received support funding say it has made a significant difference to their lives, helping them create comfortable homes, reduce stress and improve their overall wellbeing. A recent survey highlights the positive impact the funding continues to have. Flooring and carpets were the most common items funded, accounting for 42% of responses. The survey found:

The findings demonstrate how targeted financial support can have a lasting impact, helping people create safer, more comfortable homes while easing the pressures associated with financial hardship. Tenants shared their experiences of receiving support, with one saying: "It was such a relief and I am so grateful." Another explained how the funding would help them "make our home back to normal again." Hayley Cullen, Operations Manager at Ongo, said: "It's amazing to see the real difference this funding is making to the lives of our tenants. The support is targeted at those who need it most, helping people access essential items that can transform a house into a home. "Everyone deserves to feel safe, comfortable and settled in their home, and for many people this funding has helped make that possible. "We're incredibly grateful to Glasspool for their continued support. Their funding has enabled us to provide help when it's needed most, giving people the stability and confidence to build a long-term future in their home."
