Organised by Active Lincolnshire, the annual awards celebrate the impact physical activity has on people’s lives in the county, as well as providing a chance to recognise individuals, volunteers, sports clubs, schools and communities who actively contribute to the health and wellbeing of Lincolnshire and use physical activity to support positive change.
The 2022 Sport & Physical Activity Awards will be held on 3rd November at the Engine Shed in Lincoln, and Active Lincolnshire are now inviting nominations for individuals, groups and organisations to be submitted online until midnight on Wednesday 31st August.
Award categories include the Workplace Wellbeing Award, Active Community Award and Volunteer Commitment Award. This year’s awards include several new categories to reflect the refreshed Let’s Move Lincolnshire Strategy. Spearheaded by Active Lincolnshire the vision of the strategy is to make Lincolnshire a place where everyone has the opportunity to be physically active every day, with a focus on tackling inequalities and breaking down barriers to being more active. The new awards for 2022 include: The Uniting Lincolnshire Award, the Inclusion & Diversity Award, and the Health & Wellbeing Award. These recognise Active Lincolnshire’s commitment to ensuring everyone in Lincolnshire has the same access to opportunities to be active and provide an opportunity to showcase projects that are helping those groups of people facing the greatest barriers to participation.
