Get a team together and make a splash at the 2022 Lincoln Dragon Boat Race

2022 will see the return of the iconic Lincoln Dragon Boat Festival to the Brayford Waterfront!

The exciting event will be taking place on Saturday 18th June and this year Ringrose Law has teamed up with local charity LIVES to organise the spectacular waterfront event.

Dragon Boat Racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and over the last few years has become the fastest growing water activity in Britain today. Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!  It’s a great day out and is a fantastic way to support a local charity.

LIVES is a vital Lincolnshire charity who attend 999 medical emergencies across the county,365 days a year. Whether they are providing rapid first response support on their doorstep, or highly specialised medical interventions to the most seriously ill patients, they all volunteer their time- for free- to save lives and be there when someone is having their worst day. The charity provide the equipment and training for the ever increasing need.

The Lincoln Dragon Boat Race originally launched by Ringrose Law in 2016, has been on-hold for the last two years due to COVID restrictions, this year is the first year the event has been able to go ahead since 2019, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before!

Alex Bennett, Organiser of the Lincoln Dragon Boat Race;

“The Lincoln Dragon Boat Festival is mainly aimed at corporate groups who are looking for a great team building day out whilst supporting and raising money for Lincolnshire charity LIVES.

No prior experience is needed to be involved in Dragon Boat Racing, just turn up on the day and have some fun!”

Tiffany Allen, Fundraising Manager from LIVES comments;

“We are immensely excited about joining forces with Ringrose Law who are a huge supporter of our charity. We need to raise £1.4 million every year to ensure our highly skilled volunteers are there when a 999 call is made, when minutes matter. The Dragon Boat Race promises to be a great day out and will entice some healthy competition between local businesses in order to raise these vital funds to keep our Emergency Responders on the road and continue saving lives in Lincolnshire’.
