The conference aims to bring together professionals to share knowledge and shape regulatory reforms. This year it is virtual and will take place on Tuesday 22 February 2022.

Working within the housing sector for 11 years, Emma was recently appointed Building Compliance Manager at Ongo, is an Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and has a number of industry qualifications as well as a Degree in Law.

She has been recognised as a rising star within the industry and selected as a speaker for ‘Fire doors: journey to resident fire safety’.

The session, in partnership with Sentry Doors and Mila, will cover the importance of choosing the correct manufacturer and materials to provide the safest option for tenants, through to the importance of maintaining that standard.

Emma will share her experience on the £1million project Ongo undertook to improve fire safety of their high rise building in Scunthorpe, highlight tenant involvement, obstacles that were faced and how they have been overcome.

Working extensively with Humberside Fire and Rescue is something Emma will also cover.

Emma said: “I’m delighted that I’ve been invited to talk to other professionals, it’s an absolute honour.

“I have a real passion for ensuring our tenants are kept safe and I am very proud that through our commitment and investment, we are working together to make that happen.

“My ambition is to keep improving the service we provide whilst being very open and transparent with our tenants, making sure they are involved, have a voice, and our communication is delivered in the best way.

“I hope to continue learning and sharing knowledge and be at the forefront of meaningful change to improve the safety of tenants”.
