Skegness Holiday Retreat Receives Four-Star Rating

Leading Lincolnshire specialist housing provider LACE Housing is celebrating after its first holiday apartment was awarded a four-star rating from Visit England.

The self-contained one-bedroom apartment, which is part of the Chapman Court development of affordable housing for older people in Skegness, is for over 55s and was officially opened in September 2017.

After a recent assessment from a Visit England representative, it was given an overall quality score of 82% which equates to four stars.

The assessment considered all aspects of the self-catering accommodation including the exterior, public areas and the management and efficiency.

The apartment’s highest score was awarded for its overall cleanliness, with the assessor praising the attention to detail and describing the bathroom as “pristine”.

It was recognised by the assessor as being a “home from home”, ideally located close to the seafront, within one mile of local amenities.

LACE Housing’s Chief Executive Nick Chambers said: “We are thrilled with the report from Visit England following their assessment of the holiday accommodation provided at Chapman Court.

“To have such prestigious third-party endorsement is testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the development and the subsequent upkeep.”

Designed with comfort in mind, the holiday apartment at Chapman Court is centrally heated and comprises of a fully furnished lounge, fully equipped kitchen/diner, a twin bedroom and bathroom with shower.

Nick added: “We were very close to receiving five stars and, with the improvements we’ve made since the assessment, our guests are actually experiencing accommodation at the highest end of the four-star spectrum.”
