The diverse organisation, which delivers essential youth and homelessness services across Lincolnshire, has strengthened its Board of Trustees through the appointment of Simon Smith, a partner with JH Walter for 10 years.
Simon brings significant experience in the property sector to the Board, something which will be essential to the strategic future of this forward looking charity.
Simon, who moved to Lincoln with his family in 2004, said: “I want to try and give a little bit back to the City and county that has been so good to me and my family.
“YMCA Lincolnshire is the first opportunity that has really excited me. The variety of work undertaken, and the depth of the social impact made by the charity is very impressive.”
YMCA Lincolnshire Chairman Ian Sackree commented: “I am very pleased to secure Simon’s experience on a voluntary basis to help the Board further develop its strategy for delivering exemplar services to the people of Lincolnshire, including management of its many property-related provisions.”
The charity strengthens its property experience at board level at a time when it is reviewing its property portfolio and housing stock. The charity launched a £1.2 million appeal last year to refurbish its St Rumbold’s Street properties with a view to creating a much needed Day Centre for those most in need in Lincoln.
