Wright Vigar host Charity Golf Day to support DevelopmentPlus

On Friday 15th July, Wright Vigar hosted their annual charity golf day at Market Rasen Golf Club to raise money for a local charity, DevelopmentPlus, who work alongside disadvantaged and vulnerable people to help them develop initiatives to improve their quality of life.

Eighty-four keen golfers came to support the cause, with one team travelling up from Ipswich to make the event! The teams started with breakfast before 18 holes around the challenging, picturesque, heathland golf course with a chance to win various prizes. Afterward, there was a well-deserved two course lunch and a drink in the glorious sun, before the well anticipated result!

It was a close-run event this year with 3 teams all finishing on 87 points, meaning a count back was needed to decide 2nd and 3rd place. However, it was a team of Matt Chadwick, David Jockel, Jacob Obam and Liam Cotter that claimed victory, finishing with a fantastic score of 96 points! Nearest the pin was won by Richard Tasker and the straightest drive by Ryan Clarke.

With the support of the golfers, the event raised over £1000 for the charity, which will go a long way in supporting the excellent work they provide for our community. Thank you to all who participated in the golf day and gave up their time to make the day a success.
