AML Instruments Ltd is a well-established and ambitious provider of calibration services and testing equipment, accredited to UKAS ISO/IEC 17025. We are offering an excellent opportunity for a trainee lab-based calibration engineer to join our team and develop into a fully trained, multi-skilled calibration engineer. This is a structured development role designed to take someone with the right attitude and train them into a confident, technically capable engineer with long-term career prospects. Location: Lincoln, LN1 2WE Salary: National Minimum Wage (during training) + overtime & bonus Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week | Permanent (typically Monday–Friday)

The Role

You will begin by supporting experienced engineers in our laboratory, learning the fundamentals of calibration and gradually building your skills across multiple disciplines. Over time, you will be trained to carry out calibration independently across a range of equipment, including: As your training progresses, you’ll take on increasing responsibility, working towards becoming a fully competent calibration engineer within a UKAS-accredited environment. AML engineer using a handheld digital thermometer to verify temperature readings on a yellow portable temperature calibration unit.
