Stirlin announces site acquisition for new residential development!

Stirlin’s residential property division, Homes by Stirlin, is delighted to announce the recent acquisition of the site for their upcoming residential development, The Vickers.

The 4.15-acre site is situated on Stow Lane in Ingham, just 8 miles north of Lincoln – a quaint countryside village steeped in history.

Delivered by Stirlin Construction, the highly anticipated development will feature predominantly 3-4 bed dwellings, enhancing the village’s already charming community.

Ingham offers a wide array of amenities, where residents can enjoy public houses, shops, a well-regarded primary school, All Saints Church, a play park, a picturesque village green, beautiful countryside walks and a historic RAF Heritage Centre.

Homes by Stirlin has chosen to name the development, The Vickers, to pay homage to the Vickers Wellington plane that flew from RAF Ingham in the 1940s. Today, the RAF Ingham site serves as a Heritage Centre, available to visitors, celebrating the remarkable history of the men and women of the Polish Air Force Bomber Squadrons. Homes by Stirlin is proud to support the RAF Ingham heritage project, emphasising the rich history within the village.

Geoff Burton, Trustee/Founder of the Polish Bomber Squadron Centre, RAF Ingham says, “We are delighted that Homes by Stirlin has given the site the title ‘The Vickers’, in recognition of the sacrifices of the aircrew who flew flying Vickers Wellington aircraft with No’s 199, 300 and 305 squadrons, from RAF Ingham.

“The Vickers site itself has its own history, as it was the location of No.9 Domestic Site, RAF Ingham, housing airmen in Nissen Huts. Then immediately post-war it was used for humanitarian reasons, as a Polish Resettlement Camp for Polish airmen and their families, a copy of which can be seen at our Centre. We look forward to working with Stirlin on this development in Ingham.”

Tony Lawton, Managing Director of Homes by Stirlin, says of the new project, “We are incredibly pleased to have now acquired the site for our new development in Ingham. We look forward to delivering more of our high-quality brand of residential homes to a new location in Lincolnshire and creating another thriving community in our region. We look forward to revealing further details on the development very soon.”
