Local Covid Alert Levels

The Prime Minister has announced the introduction of the Local Alert Levels of Very High, High and Medium for England – Lincolnshire currently falling in the Medium category.

Local COVID Alert Levels set out the information for local authorities, residents and workers about what to do and how to manage the outbreak in their area.

A postcode checker on Gov.uk will show which Alert Level applies in each area and the NHS COVID-19 app will also direct people to this information.

Job Support Scheme expanded to protect jobs and support businesses 

The Job Support Scheme will be expanded to support businesses across the UK required to close their premises due to coronavirus restrictions.

The government will pay two thirds of employees’ salaries to protect jobs over the coming months and cash grants for businesses required to close in local lockdowns also increased to up to £3,000 per month

New guidance on Job Retention Bonus

This new guidance sets out the information employers who have furloughed employees need to know in order to claim the £1,000 bonus from 15 February until 31 March 2021.

Winter Economy plan

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a range of measures to help businesses during the winter months, including:

– Job Support Scheme: The government is to top up the wages of workers covering up to a third of their hours

– Pay as You Grow: Greater flexibility for Coronavirus loan repayments.

– Loan Schemes extension until 30th November 2020

– Self-employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) extension

– 5% VAT extension until 31st March 2021

– VAT Deferral can be repaid in smaller payments
