Ongo team raise over £500 for Lindsey Lodge

A team of 37 Ongo colleagues helped to light up the streets of Scunthorpe as part of Lindsey Lodge’s annual Glow Walk event on Friday 6 September, raising £580 of vital funds.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare provides care for adults with life limiting illnesses for both day and inpatients. It is an organisation close to the hearts of many local people and one Ongo has supported heavily throughout the years.

The event included pre-event music and warm-up, fun outfits and accessories encouraged and Marshall points throughout.  For the last mile, walkers also had the option of finishing the race with a memory lantern to remember their loved ones.

In total more than 800 people took part in the 5 or 10-mile route, making it the biggest turn out yet and one of their key fundraisers of the year.

Keeley Grocock, Customer Experience Advisor at Ongo commented: “I took part to raise much needed funds for the Lindsey Lodge Hospice, who provide amazing care and services for local people and the community.

“They supported my grandad through grief counselling when we lost our nana, and a friend with their physiotherapy service. Being mobility impaired myself, I may require their services one day, but I am privileged and proud to be able to walk this distance right now to raise money for a great cause.”

Lucy Boswell, PR & Marketing Assistant who also took part said: “Lindsey Lodge has touched the lives of so many people, including our colleagues and customers – so to be part of the Ongo team was amazing.”

Plans for the 2025 Glow Walk have already been announced, with discounted options available and exciting new additions announced, including an ‘Afterglow’ party. Find out more about that or sign up here.
