Ongo developments win leading industry awards

Two Ongo developments have won regional LABC awards after being recognised for their positive impact and quality design, also making them finalists in upcoming national awards.

The LABC awards are the largest business to business awards in the building control sector. They reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, and individuals that go that extra mile.

Ancholme Mews in Scunthorpe won the ‘Best small social housing development’. This comprises of 13 two and three-bedroom homes for affordable rent, in a sought after location for families.

The huge £9 million regeneration project in Westcliff, Scunthorpe also won ‘Best large social housing development’. This includes 41 two and three-bedroom homes and bungalows.

Along with transforming the area, the handover of homes in Westcliff marked Ongo’s 10,000th home back in October 2020.

Martin Phillips, Development Manager at Ongo commented: “Receiving regional awards for two fantastic projects is a huge achievement and we are over the moon.

“For developers, these are the awards you hope to win. They’re prestigious and well respected in the industry, so it’s great to be recognised.

“I am very proud of my team for their hard work, our customers for their valuable feedback, and to our contractors for delivering great schemes.

“To now be shortlisted for awards on a national scale is huge. Fingers crossed we win, but to be celebrated at that scale is an achievement in itself.

“Our aim is to build 225 new properties every year for the next 10 years, so expect lots more quality homes and options for rent and sale from us in the future.”

In the last 12 months Ongo has built 142 and started work on 119 homes, with 154 planned to complete over the next 12 months.

The national LABC award ceremony celebrating ‘People’ and ‘Places’ will take place in London on 28 January 2022, with Ongo as finalists in two categories. For more information, head to: www.labc.co.uk.
