Our catch up with past East Lindsey Business Awards winners continues and this week it’s the turn of Tattershall Farm Park.

Tattershall Farm Park took home the Visitor Attraction of the Year gong in 2018, triumphing in a hotly contested category. Owner Marie Scott said the Award was a mark of how far the Farm Park had come since they took over the business: “We entered the awards as validation of how far we had developed and transformed the business since we took over in 2015. We’d also taken the business over when it was in decline, so this was another way to ‘prove’ to anyone that had a negative experience previously that it was worth giving us another chance.

“Our team are hugely passionate about the farm and our visitors, and an internal ‘performance review’ is great, but being recognised by impartial judges as being Visitor Attraction of the Year was a massive confidence boost.”

It certainly sounds like there’s no let up with big plans for the future, Marie said: “We never stop, it’s a constant process of improvement and reinvestment and the pace of change is fast.  Since we won the Award our café transformation is now finished, and we’ve started selling fresh Belgian Waffles too.

“We were finalists in the Lincolnshire Family Tourism category in March and in April we were awarded Best Farm Park in the UK’s Adventure Awards, this was voted for by our visitors so we were massively proud of this recognition too

“We’ve expanded the Animal Trail and employed a new Farm Manager with a focus on rare breeds.  Our breeding program for this first year has been a massive success with rare breed Lincoln Longwools twins born on the Farm.  We’re expecting our first Rare Breed British Saddleback piglets in late July too! We’ve also employed a full time Falconer and our Falconry Centre now delivers twice daily flying demonstrations and we now have 16 birds including Hawks, Owls, Falcons and Vultures in our flying team.

“In mid-February we opened Phase 1 of our Woodland Play Tower area which we hope stretches our proposition to appeal to older children.  We’re on track for completion of Phase 2 in July which we’re really excited about too.

“So, watch this space as there are exciting times ahead!”
