Abigail Dunning and Lydia Marsh have both passed their final exams of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and can now celebrate being fully qualified chartered certified accountants within Forrester Boyd.
Abigail, a former King Edward VI Grammar School student, joined the Louth office in July 2017. After leaving school Abigail worked for two years as a recruitment consultant before deciding to embark upon her journey towards becoming an accountant. Abigail has spent most of her training working with the Agriculture team in the Louth office. She is looking forward to continuing to develop her career specialising in this sector. Over the last couple of years, Abigail has been delivering training to clients on MTD software such as QuickBooks. “This has given me a huge opportunity to meet and speak to a range of clients and to get to know their business”, said Abigail. She continued, “I think the most important but also most exciting part of my job that I am particularly passionate about is getting to know the clients that I work with and building a relationship with them built on trust.” In her spare time, Abigail loves taking her sausage dog Rosie on long walks along with spending valuable time with her friends.
Moving to the firm’s Beverley office, Lydia Marsh joined the firm in March 2018 following completion of her AS level in Accountancy at sixth form. During her training Lydia has dealt with accounts production for a variety of different client types and is particularly looking forward to progressing in her career with Forrester Boyd. Lydia said, “I did a lot of research across different firms and realised Forrester Boyd offered the best training package to suit me. This included study leave days at Kaplan whilst also being able to gain lots of experience in the workplace.”
Forrester Boyd’s HR Manager, Chantelle Rogers, said “We are delighted to add another two qualified Chartered Certified Accountants to our teams. Abigail and Lydia have worked very hard to get to this point. The training programme is intense with a lot of study and exams to contend with on top of their day-to-day work. They should be very proud of this fantastic achievement. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional training programme for our students to provide them with all the skills and experience they need to become a proficient Chartered Certified Accountant.”
Philip George, Forrester Boyd’s partner responsible for training, said “Abigail and Lydia have done extremely well and this is yet another example of the success in our strategy in recruiting and developing home grown talent. This, combined with excellent accounting tuition, allows Forrester Boyd to continue to recruit, develop and retain top quality accounting staff”.
Forrester Boyd is one of the leading independent chartered accountancy practices in Lincolnshire and the Humber region, with over 150 staff based at offices at Grimsby, Louth, Scunthorpe, Skegness, Beverley and Hull.
