Read MoreEach year, thousands of people around the world are affected by heart disease and other cardiovascular illnesses.
That is why throughout February and in conjunction with ‘Heart Month’, Visual Print and Design spent the month raising money for the British Heart Foundation through fitness challenges, game-athons and charity shop drives.
The goal was to raise £290 but because of their efforts, the generosity of others and the chadrity shop drive initiative, Visual Print and Design managed to raise an incredible £540.
Throughout the month, the team each walked or ran 160,000 steps throughout February to symbolise the number of people living with heart and circulatory diseases in Lincolnshire. As well as this, the team collected items to donate to British Heart Foundation’s local charity shops and even spent 24 hours continuously playing video and board games in the office.
Scott Jones, Head of Operations at Visual Print and Design said:
“We raise money for both local and national charities throughout the year but with February being Heart Month, we felt it was the perfect time to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation. We are absolutely over the moon that we managed to surpass our target thanks to the generosity of customers, friends, family and suppliers. The team did an incredible job getting involved, even when we had to stay awake for 24 hours!”
Melanie Meik, Community Engagement and Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for Lincolnshire and Rutland said:
“We are delighted that Visual Print and design chose to take part in our Go Red activity during heart month, supporting the British Heart Foundation to help fund the scientific breakthroughs of tomorrow. For more than 60 years, the British Heart Foundation has funded research that has turned ideas that once seemed like ‘science fiction’ into treatments and cures that save lives every day. But millions of people are still waiting for the next breakthrough.
“It is thanks to the support of companies like Visual Print and Design that we can keep research going and discover the treatments and cures of the future.”
