Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce has launched the search for a new Chair of the Board to help lead the organisation through its next chapter and continue championing businesses across Lincolnshire and Rutland.
Established in 1889, the Chamber is an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation representing and supporting businesses across the region. As part of the British Chambers of Commerce network, we connect our members locally, nationally and internationally, while ensuring the voice of Lincolnshire and Rutland businesses is heard.
The appointment comes at an important time for the Chamber. Following the setting of an ambitious budget for 2026/27, we are continuing to invest in membership growth, new products and member benefits, while developing our work across key sectors and strengthening relationships throughout Lincolnshire and Rutland.
We are therefore looking for an experienced and enthusiastic business leader who shares our ambition for the region and can provide strong, collaborative leadership to the Board.
Helping shape the Chamber’s future
The Chair plays a pivotal role in ensuring the Board operates effectively and remains focused on the Chamber’s long-term strategy. Working closely with Chief Executive Simon Beardsley and the wider Board, the successful candidate will help shape strategic discussions, support strong governance and decision-making, ensure the views of members are represented, and act as an ambassador for the Chamber across the region.
Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said:
“We’re looking for a Chair who shares our belief that Lincolnshire and Rutland’s businesses deserve a strong, connected voice, and who can bring sound judgement, energy and genuine enthusiasm for our region.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Board and executive team, ensuring we continue to make a positive difference for businesses and the wider economy.”
Who are we looking for?
We welcome applications from individuals with experience operating at board or senior leadership level. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial judgement, an understanding of governance and financial oversight, excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style. They should also be able to build strong relationships across the business community and bring different perspectives together around a shared direction.
The position is voluntary and unremunerated. The Board currently meets four to five times each year at Commerce House in Lincoln, alongside shorter Director check-ins. The Chair will also maintain regular contact with the Chief Executive and represent the Chamber at events and engagements across the region.
