Lincolnshire Chamber member named Lloyds Bank New Business of the Year Award 2023 finalist, after seven months in business.

Andy Nisevic, MD of One Degree Training & Coaching (One Degree) has been nominated for and has reached the final of the Lloyds Bank New Business of the Year Award 2023, part of the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards. Considered the UK’s flagship awards programme. After trading for seven months, and joining Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln based Nisevic has beaten an unprecedented number of entries.

“I set the business up to do everything possible to make the workplace a better, happier place. Introducing motivation and emotion, combined with psychological principles, to a holistic blended alternative to one size fits all world- class leadership, training, coaching and mentoring. 25%-40% of our lives are spent at work”, comments Nisevic.

This unique approach to development creates an environment where people are encouraged to grow, innovate and understand their own and other peoples’ emotions and motivations. Developing great leaders from start-up entrepreneurs to established leaders, across the UK.

Inspired by an RAF (Royal Air Force) leader who, Nisevic says, “Turned the light on for me, taking my workplace from a dark place to a lighter, brighter, open place enabling me to be honest with myself and everyone else. Fully engaging with people in and out of the workplace. I work with people who feel isolated, stressed or overwhelmed.” After 23 years in the RAF Nisevic believes RAF training to be amongst the best in the world, and now combines a passion for helping people and extensive knowledge of leadership theory with psychological principles.

“My core values centre on authenticity, honesty, energetic, fun learning and that everyone knows something I don’t. Adapt to others rather than expecting everyone to adapt their approach to us. Become a great leader.” adds Nisevic.

A client with a £1m monthly turnover acknowledged problems with communication and recruitment. Over seven months One Degree has supported the business, put processes and structures in place that have helped 40% growth, efficiency and client experience improved, productivity increased. Creating a culture and environment that attracts, retains, and motivates staff.

Five-star reviews include: “After half a day I feel speechless. This is one of the best investments I’ve made in myself and business for a long time.” “I’ve unlocked a limiting belief I’ve had for 26 years. This alone is priceless.”

People tend to be promoted because they are good at their job but are not given vital skills and communication lessons.

Nisevic challenges innovative leaders to make an impact in their industry sectors. Online, in person, professional leader development programmes, bespoke training, personality assessments, values consultancy, 1:1 coaching and 1:1 mentoring.

One Degree has over doubled its forecast sales of £60,000, built on repeat business and referrals. 1% of every sale will be donated to My Square Metre, a social enterprise planting wildflowers to improve biodiversity. One twelve-month contract will offset Nisevic’s carbon footprint for a year. Nisevic is a volunteer mentor and coach with Acts Trust, empowering people to end poverty, and a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.

A Master Mentor, accredited through the International Authority for Professional Coaching & Mentoring, Accredited Coach in Human Performance, Team Performance, Wellbeing through The Coaching Academy (ICF accredited), the largest coaching providers in the UK, and a qualified teacher. Nisevic has invested heavily.

The Award recognises excellence and companies that have made an impact in their industry with innovation and leadership. The next round includes a 40 minute presentation to a panel of judges on 12th September at The Home Grown Private Members Club in London. Finalists have been invited to the awards night at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 14th November.
