Six exceptional trainees join Forrester Boyd

Forrester Boyd, one of the leading independent accountancy firms in the Lincolnshire and Humber region, is excited to welcome the class of 2020.

This year’s intake of six trainee accountants bring with them a very broad range of skills and interests.

The first of five students joining the Grimsby office is Morgan Jones.  Morgan chose Forrester Boyd because “they have a great pedigree in training young people in the field of accountancy”.  He is looking forward to the valuable training and gaining experience in practice accounting.  In his spare time, he enjoys cricket, football and go-karting.

Matthew Savage, a former student of Oasis Academy and Caistor Grammar School Sixth Form has also joined the Grimsby intake.  He is hoping to progress through his qualifications and gain some valuable learning ‘on the job’.  Matthew enjoys competing at tennis in a county team and running.

Daniel Edwards has joined from Franklin College/Ormiston Maritime Academy.  He is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet clients and go on audits.  Daniel chose Forrester Boyd as “the firm has a great reputation and has a very well-regarded apprenticeship programme”.

Joshua Scott joins following studies at Tollbar 6th Form.  Joshua is looking forward to seeing the progression of his own skills whilst studying and working on the job.  He chose Forrester Boyd “for the opportunity to work with local businesses and charities in a safe and friendly work environment”. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys football and running.

Jay Pauley rounds up the Grimsby incumbents.  Following studies at Healing School and Franklin College, Jay is looking ahead to learning more about the job and progressing.  Jay wanted to join Forrester Boyd because ”I’ve always been a logical thinker and interested in numbers – I’m also interested in businesses and how they work.”

The firm’s Louth office welcomes Lauren-Chelsie Brett, following studying at Wyke College.  She is looking forward to working within the accounting industry and seeing her studies support her work in preparing accounts. “Forrester Boyd has a wide variety of sectors and I feel like my background in agriculture will aid me in my work within the agricultural sector”, said Lauren-Chelsie.

Away from the office, Lauren-Chelsie enjoys clay pigeon shooting which has been her hobby for 13 years.

Kevin Hopper, Managing Partner said “I am always impressed with the wealth of local talent that we have in the area. However, it is not just talent and ambition the new trainees will need. They will also need to put in a lot of hard work to ensure they progress in their careers.

“They all appear to have settled in well and we look forward to developing the skills they need to be well rounded accountants and business advisers. After such a difficult year, it is great to make a positive statement about our future and we are thrilled to be able to support all our trainees on their journey.

“Who knows, they could all be our partners of the future.”
