Ten Point Plan for Green Growth – Natures Recovery and Blue-Green Places

Held by East Midlands Chamber of Commerce in partnership with other organisations, this session is one of a series of virtual roundtable events that will provide the business community with the opportunity to hear how the Ten Point Plan for Green Growth in the Midlands Engine sets out, with a unified voice, the Midlands Engine Partnership’s collective plan and  actions to be taken in partnership which will accelerate both the Midlands and the UK’s path to net zero.

This interactive session will cover two of the themes detailed in the plan: “Nature’s Recovery” and “Blue Green Places”.

Nature’s Recovery aims are to: Invest in woodland; peatland and other carbon sinks; Deliver long-term environmental resilience; Enhance Biodiversity; Improve heath and wellbeing; Encourage green tourism and boost visitor economy; Create more jobs in the green economy; and Increase cycling and walking.

Blue-Green Places are to: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions; Improve health and wellbeing; Improve water management systems; Encourage green tourism and boost visitor economy; Reduce heat island effect; Improve natural habitats; and Enhance biodiversty

– Focus on the Natures Recovery and Blue-Green Places themes – delivered by the theme leads Paul Forecast, Regional Director, National Trust and Toby Bancroft, Regional Director, Central England, Woodland Trust

– Business Case Study (tbc)  – detailing the importance of these themes to the business community

– Interactive discussion on the themes presented
