Monthly construction businesses networking
From sole traders to large housing associations, construction and property businesses come together to talk business at the Lincolnshire Chamber’s Construction Network.
Meet up to 60 construction related businesses in one room. And to ensure that you’re talking to the right people, we limit the number of non-construction related businesses attending the event.
As the saying goes, ‘Time is Money’. Attending the Construction Network for two hours every month is one of the most productive ways that you can keep up to date with project news and new business and tendering opportunities amongst contractors and suppliers.
Some membership packages include a free ticket to networking events – if you’d like to honour this and book your place, email us on events@lincs-chamber.co.uk
Sleaford Moor Enterprise Park Overview
North Kesteven District Council’s vision for Sleaford Moor Enterprise Park is ‘a premier strategic employment park servicing Sleaford’s ambition for economic and employment growth, meeting the needs of fast growing local businesses in key sectors and facilitating inward investment’.
Development of SMEP has taken place against a challenging and unprecedented set of circumstance from the Covid pandemic as well as price inflation linked to the recovery of the world economy after Covid lockdowns, Brexit supply issues, and most significantly the inflationary pressures arising from the war in Ukraine. Despite this, phase one is nearing completion with units recently reaching practical completion and handover with the remainder of the phase due to complete by December 23.
The phase is delivering 15 new industrial units, amounting to just over 40,000 Sq F of commercial floorspace, across two development plots. All units have been built with sustainability and adaptability in mind, features include solar panels, energy-saving insulation and EV charging points, and a landscaping scheme to maintain biodiversity.
North Kesteven District Council Leader Councillor Richard Wright, the Council’s Corporate Management Team and its Economic Development Team and partners, invite you to come along for this Chamber event and see this progress onsite.
The enterprise park is a 14.58 hectares (36 acres) Strategic Employment Site, as allocated in the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan for economic development. It’s an extension to the established Sleaford Industrial Area which includes the popular Sleaford Enterprise Park to the north east of the town. It is a greenfield, regular shaped, flat site that occupies a prominent location immediately adjacent to the A17, a strategic east west link across Lincolnshire connecting the A1 with eeast coast ports.
The authority purchased the site in May 2017 to bring forward its potential, as for a number of reasons it had failed to be delivered by the market. Once fully developed, the site could deliver 450,000 Sq F of new business space for the town creating in the region of 500 jobs.
Since acquisition, the Council has been progressing plans for the site and its development including the setting up of a new governance structure, a framework business plan, securing planning consent and the appointment of key consultants and contractors to assist it in delivery. Phase one, representing an investment by the Council of c£11 million, started on site in August 2022 and involves servicing the site with the Strategic Infrastructure alongside speculative industrial development. There’s been significant infrastructure work both offsite and onsite, including securing and delivering a new electricity supply from Ruskington and overcoming major drainage challenges.
