Virtual Lincolnshire Construction & Property Network January

Monthly construction and property businesses networking

After a turbulent and dramatic year for the country and indeed the world due to Covid 19, how is the construction industry planning for the future?

This month we invite a speaker to look at the changing face of the construction industry and housing in particular focusing on new thinking and technology, and how it can be used to overcome the some of challenges of COVID-19, including the housing and climate crises and the development of a future workforce.

COVID-19 has caused a lot of us to reflect on home and places, so what are the areas of focus in 2021 and beyond? How can we use different technology and thinking from other industries in the creation of new homes to tackle the housing, climate and housing design crises and how can we attract and develop a new, more diverse work force to take up a career in the industry?

Speaker: Mark Southgate, Chief Executive, Ministry of Building Innovation (MOBIE)

MOBIE exists to engage, educate and inspire young people in home design, building and manufacture and to transform home building into a clean, precision engineered and efficient industry.

Mark is responsible for overseeing all MOBIE’s activities including inspiring a new generation to take up careers in and reshape the home building, built environment and construction professions.
