Chestnut Homes – Railway Paths development

The first residents have moved in at a new affordable housing development in Boston.

Lincolnshire housebuilder Chestnut Homes has completed work on Railway Paths, a collection of five houses and 12 apartments off Tattershall Road.

The 17 homes have now been officially handed over to social housing provider Boston Mayflower, and the first occupants received the keys to their home this week.

The first family to move in were welcomed into their home by Boston Mayflower Director of Property Services and Development Matthew Spittles and Chestnut Homes site manager Stanley Cocker, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by dignitaries from Boston Borough Council, the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Wilkin Chapman solicitors.

Railway Paths has been built on a piece of former railway land opposite Chestnut Homes’ now-completed Riverside development on the north bank of the River Witham.

Planning permission to develop the previously derelict 0.41-hectare site was granted in February 2017 and construction work began later the same year.

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “As a Lincolnshire housebuilder we were delighted to work with Boston Mayflower to provide these brand new affordable homes for the people of Boston.

“It was a pleasure to welcome the first family into their new home and we look forward to seeing other residents settle into their properties in the coming weeks.”

Sean, Emma and their baby son Owen are welcomed into their new home at Railway Paths by Matthew Spittles, Director of Property Services and Development at Boston Mayflower.
