Chamber organises online charity raffle for 2020 charity of the year

Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce are organising a virtual Chamber Christmas Charity Raffle to raise much-needed funds for its 2020 charity of the year, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA).

Businesses across Lincolnshire have donated prizes which you can be in with a chance of winning by entering the raffle for just £10 per go.

Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance are a local charity, which receives no government funding and relies on fundraising, volunteering and donations to keep their helicopter flying every day and are just one charity which has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

Charlotte Watson, Head of PR, Marketing and Comms at Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “2020 hasn’t been the year for physical fundraising events and instead of not doing anything, buying raffle tickets online to raise money seemed the obvious solution.

“If the coronavirus pandemic has taught us anything it is how to adapt and make the best out of a situation and we are delighted to be able to do something to support a valued Chamber member and local charity reach their fundraising goals.”

The draw will take place on Zoom and broadcasted live on Chamber’s Facebook page on Thursday 10th December from 2.45pm.

There will also be the opportunity to network and the potential for a virtual tour around the ambucopter (subject to availability).

We’d love for as many Lincolnshire businesses as possible to get involved, so drum up interest in your workplace by spreading the word and getting your raffle tickets here!

How does it work?

It’s very simple:

– Businesses buy a ticket at £10 per go. There is no limit to how many tickets you can buy so enter as many times as you want, just purchase more than one ticket at the checkout. The more tickets you buy the higher chance you have of winning a prize!

– And finally, a live prize draw will take place using a randomised name picker, so it truly is luck of the draw!

Commenting on the fundraiser is Karen Jobling, CEO at Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance: “At a time when we’ve been unable to fundraise in the ways we usually would, compounded now by the advent of a further lockdown, support from our local businesses gives us a real boost.

“We rely on donations to keep our helicopter flying and our Critical Care Cars on the roads, so thank you to the Chamber and all of the businesses who are supporting the raffle by donating prizes.”

It will cost £6 million this year to keep the helicopter operational – a huge sum, but we can help! Every penny of every raffle ticket you buy goes straight to the charity to support their fantastic work.
