Tenant’s feedback leads to improvements at Allenby Close, Lincoln

Tenants are already seeing positive changes at Allenby Close after raising concerns during a recent community action day. The event brought together tenants, colleagues from Ongo Homes and local partner organisations to discuss issues affecting the neighbourhood and identify ways to improve the area. Following feedback from tenants, locks have now been installed on all three bin stores to improve security. The bin stores have also been cleaned and repainted, helping to improve the appearance of the estate. Fly-tipping reported on Ongo-owned land during the event has been cleared, while a wooden gate leading towards the railway line has been secured after tenants raised concerns about safety. Although the gate is not owned by Ongo, action was taken following discussions with the community. Scott Taylor, Neighbourhoods Team Manager at Ongo, said, "The action day gave us a great opportunity to speak directly with tenants, hear their concerns and understand what matters most to them. "We're pleased that we've already been able to make several improvements following the event, and we'd like to thank everyone who took the time to come along and share their views. "Just as importantly, we've heard the wider feedback from tenants and we're continuing to explore what more can be done alongside our teams and partners to support the community.” Tenants also shared feedback on a range of wider issues, including bin store signage, additional security measures, parking, activities for young people and opportunities for more regular engagement with Ongo. While not every suggestion can be addressed immediately, all comments are being reviewed and will help shape future plans and conversations about the area. Ongo is also working with their customer engagement team to develop more opportunities for tenants to get involved and help influence decisions within their communities. The improvements form part of Ongo's ongoing commitment to working with tenants to create cleaner, safer and more welcoming neighbourhoods. For more information, visit www.ongo.co.uk
