Ongo and Matthews & Tannert win at Building Communities Awards 2026

Ongo and Matthews & Tannert are celebrating success after being named winners of the Collaborative Working Award at the Efficiency East Midlands (EEM) Building Communities Awards 2026.   The award recognises the strength and longevity of their partnership, which now spans over a decade. Throughout that time, the two organisations have worked side by side to deliver high‑quality home improvements, essential maintenance, and community led projects across North Lincolnshire.   This includes over 2,000 new kitchen and bathroom installations and essential void, electrical and repairs services.   Both were also recognised in the shortlisting for the Community Impact Award, for their recent kitchen refurbishment project at the Viking Centre, Ongo’s community hub in Barton.   Delivered with local residents and partners, the room has been transformed into a modern, functional, and welcoming space. It now serves as a hub for cooking sessions, community events, and programmes designed to help families build confidence in preparing healthy meals.   Jan Williams, Head of Opportunities at Ongo, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to win this award. The impact of our partnership over the last ten years has been huge and, in some cases, life changing.   “Our partnership works because Matthews & Tannert take pride in what they do. Like us, they are committed to making a measurable difference, and that shared purpose is reflected in every project we deliver together.   “This recognition from the EEM Building Communities Awards shows the strength of that commitment, to social value, to partnership, and to delivering a great service for our customers.   “A huge thank you goes to our teams, and to everyone we work alongside at Matthews & Tannert. Long may our partnership continue.”   James Matthews, Director of Matthews & Tannert said: "We are immensely proud of our strong and collaborative partnership in delivering better homes for Ongo residents. Having served the North Lincolnshire community in various capacities for over 20 years, this award is especially meaningful and stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in delivery.   “We believe that the shared core values form the foundation of our continued success. This alignment enables us to work seamlessly together, fostering a partnership built on trust, quality, and a shared vision for positive impact.   “Through our collaborative approach, we strive to achieve more than just the completion of projects. We are committed to making a genuine difference, enhancing lives, strengthening communities, and leaving a lasting, positive legacy in the areas we serve." The Building Communities Awards, hosted by Efficiency East Midlands (EEM), recognise and celebrate professionalism, excellence, and innovation across the housing and construction sector.
