Ongo shortlisted for two North Lincolnshire Business Awards

We’re really excited to announce we’ve been shortlisted for two categories in the 2026 North Lincolnshire Business Awards – recognising our commitment to local communities and the achievements of one of our colleagues. We are finalists for:

• Young Businessperson of the Year – Allanta Todd (Ongo Recruitment): At just 19, Allanta has already made a remarkable impact on Ongo Recruitment and the wider community. Starting with us at 16 as an apprentice, she has shown professional maturity, dedication, and a strong drive to support young people and local employers. Her achievements include leading our Apprentice Desk, supporting over 60 apprentices, creating high‑impact digital content, and helping employers connect with talent across the region.

 

• Excellence in Community Award – Ongo Talk (Ongo Communities): Ongo Talk provides accessible counselling and emotional wellbeing support delivered by BACP‑registered counsellors and supervised students. In the last year alone, over 570 people accessed the service. Ongo Talk works alongside housing, employment and money support teams to provide a truly person‑centred approach, helping people overcome barriers, improve their wellbeing, and move forward with confidence.

We are proud to be recognised among so many inspiring businesses, community groups and individuals making a difference across our region. Being shortlisted reflects not just the strength of our services, but our commitment to helping communities across Northern Lincolnshire thrive. Jan Williams, Head of Opportunities, said: “I am so proud of our teams. Allanta has truly shone and absolutely deserves this recognition, especially achieving so much at such a young age. Her professionalism, passion, and ability to support other young people to realise their dreams really sets her apart. “And Ongo Talk continues to deliver an outstanding and deeply valued service that genuinely changes lives. The team offers specialist mental health counselling and emotional wellbeing support to local people, often at times when they need it most. “Their dedication to improving lives and strengthening our communities is something we’re all incredibly proud of.” Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony later this year.
