Read MoreOngo has commenced a project to refresh and repaint communal areas across several neighbourhoods in North Lincolnshire, including Anderson Road, Holgate Road, Manley Court, Pryme Road, and Warley Road.
The work, which includes fresh coats of paint, minor repairs, and general improvements, aims to make shared spaces brighter and more welcoming.
Scheduled for completion in November, this is just one example of how they are investing in homes and neighbourhoods.
One tenant, Miss Cassell, commented: “I’m really happy. It looks much cleaner and brighter now. It’s a positive change from how it was before, with marks and dirt.
“I’m happy with Ongo as my landlord, and when I struggled to pay rent in the past, they were incredibly supportive and helped me access financial support. That made a huge difference.”
Miss Briggs, another tenant said: “The work was well done, and the quality was excellent. I didn’t expect the communal area to be painted, so it was a lovely surprise.”
Finally, when asked about the work, Miss Bryant said: “It looks nice and fresh, and the painter was very respectful. The work didn’t disrupt my day at all. It looks much more maintained now and it’s finished to a great standard. I couldn’t fault it.”
In the last financial year alone, they’ve spent £45.6 million on major improvement works and decarbonisation projects. These included upgrades to heating systems, insulation, and energy efficiency measures, ensuring homes are not only more modern and comfortable, but also more sustainable.
John Hughes, Head of Assets and Sustainability at Ongo, said: “We know that first impressions matter. Communal areas are the first thing you see when you walk into a building, and they set the tone for how people feel about their home.
“By improving these spaces, we want to build pride. This work is a key part of our mission to be a great landlord and deliver real value to our tenants.”
Following consultation with tenants, colleagues, and stakeholders, Ongo has also launched a new Strategic Asset Management Plan. This sets out their long-term commitment to investing in homes and communities, with tenants firmly at the heart of every decision.
