Read MoreThe Arc is set to shine this Christmas with a community celebration, taking place on Friday 28 November from 4:30-6:30pm. This free, festive event includes a talent show, Christmas stalls as well as a Christmas light switch-on.
The talent show is open to individuals and groups of all ages across Scunthorpe. Applications are invited from 1 to 31 October, with hopefuls submitting a short video (no longer than two minutes) showcasing their act. A judging panel, consisting of locals Rae Twidale (Westcliff Community Centre) Lyndsey Moody (BeApt) and Victoria Bradshaw (The Arc) will select three finalists in November, who will then compete live on stage at the event. The audience will then vote for their favourite act.
In addition to this, guests can enjoy the Christmas light switch-on and browse the Christmas craft fair, featuring handmade gifts and seasonal treats from local makers. Stalls will include food, drinks, crafts, seasonal gifts and more.
Victoria Bradshaw, Team Leader at The Arc said: “This event is all about celebrating the creativity and spirit of our local community. Whether you’re performing, shopping, or just want to soak up the atmosphere, this event is the perfect way to kick off the festive season.”
Those wishing to enter the talent show competition should complete an application form, found on The Arc’s website, https://www.arcwestcliff.co.uk/ Terms and conditions can also be found on this page, as well as details of how to submit a video.
