Ongo has been officially recognised as one of the Top 50 housing associations

Ongo has been officially recognised as one of the Top 50 housing associations in Inside Housing’s prestigious annual list, a major milestone that highlights the organisation’s commitment to tackling the housing crisis and delivering affordable homes to those who need them most.

This is the first time Ongo has featured in the list, which ranks housing associations based on the number of new, affordable homes they started building in the last year.

The recognition comes at a time when many in the sector have scaled back development due to economic pressures, making Ongo’s continued momentum even more significant.

Martin Phillips, Head of Development and Sales at Ongo, said: “This is a huge achievement, and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every colleague who’s played a part in making it happen.

“Nothing beats the moment we hand over the keys to a new home and see the difference it makes to someone’s life and it’s their dedication that makes this possible hundreds of times every year.

“I also want to thank our tenants, whose involvement in decision-making helps shape our work and build a stronger, more resilient organisation, allowing us room to grow and deliver on our aims.”

Ongo’s development team has worked tirelessly to maintain and expand its building programme, with hundreds of new homes planned each year across Lincolnshire and beyond. The organisation is also investing heavily in its existing stock, with a £120 million commitment over the next 10 years to ensure current homes remain safe, modern, and energy efficient.

This recognition aligns with the UK Government’s broader ambition to deliver 1.5 million new homes by 2030, while also achieving net zero by 2050. Ongo’s approach demonstrates how housing providers can play a key role in meeting both targets.

“We’re proud to be part of the solution,” Martin added. “Our homes are built with the future in mind, from solar panels and EV chargers to high energy efficiency standards. We’re not just building houses, we’re building communities.”

Ongo will continue to share updates on its development plans throughout the year, with more exciting projects on the horizon. To find out more, visit: www.ongo.co.uk.
