Friday the 9th of July saw the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Gainsborough Area, host its first Annual Hog Roast Event which attracted around 60 guests. The event was largely supported by the local business community as well as Chamber members based in other locations across the county. The event proved a success for all attending and showed the benefits that can be achieved through informal networking such as this.
The Old Hall in Gainsborough was perfect for our hog roast event, with our guests being greeted with a welcome drink of white or red wine, iced water or orange juice. We also had the services of Trent Side ales, who served real cask ale. Guests then enjoyed time chatting with other delegates while purchasing tickets to win a number of prizes on the Charity Auction, with proceeds going to Lincolnshire Businesses for Breakfast. Overall the amount raised by guests was £73.50, and prizes comprised of two tickets for a meal for two to include a bottle of wine at Canute in Gainsborough, kindly donated by Canute, a bottle of red and white wine, kindly donated by RBar, and a bottle of malt whiskey, kindly donated by Road Safety Markings Association. Heather Lee from the Lincolnshire Coop and Lincolnshire Businesses for Breakfast said, “Many thanks for organising Friday evening’s event, I thought it went very well and was well attended for a Gainsborough based event. The coverage you gave Lincolnshire Co-op and the Breakfast Club charity was great.”
Our caterers, Michael’s Outside Caters, served guests from the medieval kitchen and provided a choice of salads as well as the pork direct from the hog roast. Once guests had finished, a choice of real fruit pies and gateaux were offered, all of which were served with cream. Michael Atkin from Michael's Outside Catering thanked the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Gainsborough Area, for booking his services for our event and said, "For us the evening was a great success - lovely people and a fantastic venue for a hog roast. We hope the Chamber members also enjoyed the evening. Please contact me through my website www.michaelsoutsidecatering.co.uk if you have any queries, feedback or I can help you at anytime in the future.”
The Lincolnshire Chamber would like to thank ICO Polymers, a large local employer, for their sponsorship which helped our successful event take place. Russell Dodge from ICO Polymers said, “ICO Polymers were very pleased and keen to offer support to the Chamber of Commerce for this extremely worthwhile event. The Hog Roast proved to be an excellent way to network with other local companies and it was an added bonus to be able to do this in such a relaxed environment.”
Thanks would also like to be extended to The Lincolnshire Coop for sponsorship of the arrival drinks, Trentside Ales Ltd for the external bar provisions and all delegates who attended and showed support for our event.
