Ursula Lidbetter to step down as Chair of the Chamber
Lincolnshire Co-op CEO, Ursula Lidbetter will step down as the chair of the Chamber.
Ursula has led the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce’s recent restructure, involving creating a county-wide assembly to complement the board.
As part of these changes, the Chamber is now looking to appoint a new Chair in due course, however no timescale has been set for this.
Ursula, who has served as the Chair since 2000, will continue in her role until a new chair has been elected and will lead the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting on the 4th December.
This has no impact on Ursula’s other roles as Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Co-op or Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire Enterprise Partnership.
Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce Simon Beardsley said: “Ursula has been personally involved in the Chamber for a substantial number of years and we are extremely appreciative of the experience and wider expertise she has offered, which has recently been hugely beneficial in moving the Chamber forward in its new direction.
“Whilst we will miss her involvement, we are delighted that Lincolnshire Co-op will remain a strong partner and supporter of the Chamber and Lincolnshire business community.”
Ursula added: “I have served as Chair of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce since 2000. With the introduction of the Chamber Assembly, I now feel the time has come to pass the baton onto another member of our flourishing business community.
“It’s good governance practice to refresh the make-up of your board and there’s lots of talented business people in our area with much to offer. I’m sure the new Chair will bring great ideas and energy to the role.
“Although I am stepping down, Lincolnshire Co-op will remain a member and patron of the Chamber and continue to have senior representation in the organisation playing an active part in its important work.”
