Agriculture expert warns that 10% of farmers could retire this month amid fears of tax rises and subsidy cuts
Read MoreSmall to medium enterprises (SMEs) in Lincolnshire will be able to submit a free application to receive expert business support which aims to develop and implement an Innovate UK-funded environmental, social, and governance (ESG) self-assessment tool and accreditation scheme.
A collaboration between the University of Lincoln, UK, and the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, the funding will take the form of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). The University’s KTP scheme helps businesses to grow by improving their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology, and skills. They offer an opportunity to collaborate with an academic team from the University to support the delivery of a particular business initiative.
The KTP is available in conjunction with the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, to both members and non-members of the Chamber, supported by academic expertise from the University to embed the knowledge needed to create and maintain a digital self-assessment tool. This tool will enable businesses to evaluate and enhance their environmental, social, and governance performance.
Businesses who engage with this KTP will have an opportunity to improve their competitive advantage by advancing sustainability performance and positively contributing to improving the environment, attracting conscious consumers and investors who prioritise responsible operations.
The innovative services provided through the project will shine a light on the benefits of a membership with the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce; joining a strong and collaborative business network which has been active for more than 130 years, which exists to help organisations across the county to grow.
With micro-sized enterprises facing many challenges in accessing the necessary skills and resources to stay at the forefront of modern business practices, this KTP opportunity aims to bridge this gap, with sustainability as a key focus. These efforts are in line with the Government’s commitment to promote sustainable business practices and achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Professor Simon Lilley, Acting Head of the Lincoln International Business School, said:
“The Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University of Lincoln and Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce exemplifies our commitment to supporting sustainable business practices and fostering economic growth in the region.
“Through cutting-edge tools and expert guidance, we aim to empower Lincolnshire businesses to thrive in the ever-changing business landscape.”
Simon Beardsley, CEO of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the University of Lincoln on such a transformative project. With this KTP, we look forward to equipping our business community with the resources and expertise they need to improve their sustainability practices and achieve long-term growth and success.”
