Tradeglaze Raise Over £1,200 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance

On Sunday 16th April five members of ‘Team Tradeglaze’ put on their running shoes and took on the challenge of running 10k through the streets of Lincoln, raising £1,254.00 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Over 2,500 runners joined the City of Lincoln 10k race this year, attracting participants not only from Lincolnshire but from all over the country due to its friendly atmosphere, flat course and a stunning finish line right next to the beautiful Lincoln Cathedral. Tradeglaze employees used to run Lincoln 10k every year before the pandemic stopped the event. This year, Team Tradeglaze came back in full force, finishing as the 4th competing team overall, and not only hitting but exceeding our target £1,000, all due to very generous support of our colleagues, customers, suppliers, families and friends.

The LNAA are a local charity based next to RAF Waddington. The bright yellow LNAA ambucopter regularly flies over Tradeglaze offices to land at Lincoln County Hospital to get patients suffering from the most serious of illnesses and devastating injuries, providing the best possible treatment as quickly as possible. In 2022 the LNAA had its busiest year ever when it responded to more than 1,620 incidents. On Friday 19th May, Tradeglaze representatives got to visit the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance headquarters and present their donation.

Tradeglaze Marketing Manager, Katerina Pickup, who took part in the race shared: “We see the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance ambucopter frequently in our county, working hard to get critically injured patients the fast medical care they need. None of us think that they’ll need a critical care team landing by helicopter to save their life. But the crew attend on average 4 life-saving missions a day. Their selfless work means that those critically ill patients have the best chance to survive.”

“We are really happy that we have been able to run the City of Lincoln 10k race and raise such a great amount for the LNAA, who continue providing life-saving missions, all with no direct government funding and made possible only through the generosity of supporters.”

“Our team really enjoyed the challenge and would like to extend our warmest thanks to all who have supported our fundraiser, be it through donations or by turning up on the day to cheer us on when our feet were burning! We would like to give a special mention and thank you to the personnel at the Standards and Evaluation Unit and 51 Squadron based at RAF Waddington for their generous donations and their support and encouragement in the run up to the event.”

Tanya Taylor, Head of Corporate, Community and Events at the LNAA, said: “I would like say a huge thank you to all the team at Tradeglaze, for raising an amazing £1,254.00! No one wakes up thinking they will need the help of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, but with crews on call 365 days of the year, our highly skilled doctors, paramedics and pilots help people involved in life-threatening incidents every day. We transport an A&E department to patients involved in emergencies when every minute matters.”

“The fabulous support from Tradeglaze helps to keep our Helicopter in the sky and our Critical Care Cars on the road giving patients the best chance of survival. Thank you all so much once again!”

Big congratulations to everyone for taking part, what an amazing effort!
