The British Hamper Company Showcases British Excellence at UK-EU Summit Reception at 10 Downing Street

The British Hamper Company was honoured to be selected to represent British enterprise at the UK-EU Summit Reception, held last night at 10 Downing Street. Hosted by the Prime Minister and attended by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, alongside high-ranking EU officials and ambassadors, the reception spotlighted outstanding British businesses playing a role in shaping international trade and cooperation.

Held as part of a wider initiative to deepen economic and cultural ties between the United Kingdom and the European Union, the event celebrated innovation, sustainability, and partnership. Guests were treated to a curated experience of Britain’s finest offerings including an artisan showcase from The British Hamper Company, renowned for its British artisan selection of gourmet British food and drink.

The British Hamper Company was founded in Lincoln with a clear mission: to connect and delight loved ones around the world through exceptional British food gifts. Partnering with the UK’s finest artisan producers, the company creates a range of specialty food products sold both individually and within its luxury hampers. Each hamper is thoughtfully curated and meticulously assembled, showcasing premium quality, elegant presentation, and the rich diversity of Britain’s best makers, bakers, and growers.

Being sampled by the Cabinet and guests were selections from the company’s acclaimed hampers, including rich, crumbly Sea Salt Caramel Fudge made in small batches in Cornwall and All Butter Cheddar Biscuits crafted by artisan bakers in Suffolk. These gourmet treats exemplify the company’s commitment to sourcing the very best from Britain’s producers.

James Tod, Managing Director of The British Hamper Company Ltd, commented: "To be invited to 10 Downing Street and recognised as a business that exemplifies British quality and collaboration is a great honour. At The British Hamper Company, we are passionate about championing the UK’s rich food heritage while embracing innovation and export. Our success is built on partnerships, both with the incredible artisans we work with across the UK and the customers and companies we serve around the world.

Since leaving the EU customs union trading within the EU has been challenging and has added extra cost. Whilst we await details of the deal made, any reduction in cross border friction will be beneficial to UK food producers and is a step in the right direction to frictionless trade . Our goal is to continue connecting and delighting loved ones across the EU with artisan British food gifts and I hope this deal will allow us to continue expanding our range and remain competitive within the EU.’’

The UK-EU Summit Reception highlighted the government’s support for businesses like The British Hamper Company that are enhancing Britain’s global reputation through excellence in craft, creativity, and commerce.
