Grant Details

The South Kesteven Business Growth Grant, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will support businesses with the boost they need to drive innovation, create and safeguard local jobs, and unlock new growth opportunities. We welcome applications from eligible businesses across all sectors.

From July through September 30th, applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. If funding remains after this period, a new application window will be opened.

Growth in business can take many forms, but for projects to be eligible for this fund, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund identifies measures that you can find in our above FAQS. 

Below are sample projects from various sectors that illustrate the types of activities and outcomes supported by the Business Growth Grant. These examples highlight how the grant can drive measurable business growth, a key requirement for funding.

Who Can Apply?

The South Kesteven Business Growth Grant is open to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises established in South Kesteven and who have been trading over 12 months. All sectors are welcome to apply, provided the proposed project supports growth and meets the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria – Initial Filter Questions

These questions are designed to ensure businesses and their projects meet the basic eligibility requirements of the grant before proceeding with a full application. Please check carefully – the questionnaire will determine whether your business or project is eligible for this grant.

• Is your business registered with HMRC or Companies House?

• Has your business been trading for at least 12 months from the date of application?

• Is your business located within the administrative boundaries of South Kesteven District Council?

• Does your business employ fewer than 250 people?

• Is your business’s annual turnover less than £40 million?

• Do you operate from a registered business bank account (not a personal account)?

• Is your project already underway or has it already been paid for?

If you answered no to any question 1 to 6 above your project will not eligible for funding.

Does your project involve any of the following?

• Purchase of land or buildings

• Purchase of vehicles or mobile infrastructure (e.g. food trucks, trailers)

• Payment of business running costs (e.g. rent, salaries, utilities)

• Paying off existing debts, taxes, or legal obligations

• Replacing old or broken machinery with the same or similar equipment

• Buying stock or inventory

If you answered yes to any of the above, your project will not be eligible for funding.

4.Last three months of business bank statements

5.Last three years of financial accounts

6.Current management accounts

7.Projected budget/forecast

8.Evidence of match funding

*In some cases, fewer quotes may be accepted (e.g. specialist suppliers).
