Read MoreOngo is celebrating National Carers Week with a huge, local recruitment drive to get people into the care sector.
National Carers Week takes place between 5-11 June this year. It aims to raise awareness of what is means to be a career, celebrate what they do for others and raise awareness to help more people access support.
A carer is someone who provides support to someone who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, addiction, or who needs extra help as they grow older.
Ongo has a dedicated Proud to Care team. They work in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council to deliver quality care through improved recruitment and retention.
Lisa Breslin, Proud to Care Project Coordinator said: “This project has been a fantastic way to help people get into work and improve services across the region.
“We want to attract more candidates and showcase the great opportunities available locally, championing the hugely important role care workers play in our communities.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you them all, they make such a massive difference to other people’s lives and we’re delighted to celebrate them as part of this national campaign.
“If you’d like to know more about what our team can offer or help you with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.”
The Proud to Care Recruitment Hub operates from their office on Cole Street in Scunthorpe, with candidates benefitting from a 30-hour induction programme. This includes required learning to work in the sector, along with job shadowing.
To find out more about the Proud to Care initiative, or if you want to work in the sector, get in touch with the team on 01724 844848 (option 1) or email recruitment@ongo.co.uk.
