Calders & Grandidge is one of the leading suppliers of pressure treated timber poles in the UK. Our connection with timber poles dates back to the 1930s when the booming telecommunications industry necessitated the use of telegraph and transmission poles to support the nations overhead cabling.
The history of the Calder family in connection with timber dates back to the 1820s when a coal merchant in Dunkeld opened a saw mill. Of his two sons, one, named Charles developed the business and shipped timber grown in Scotland to the North of England where it was used chiefly in the mines.

We are equipped with our own twin set of 36m creosote impregnation vessels, as well as 15m celcure high pressure treatment autoclaves. These resources enable us to treat large amounts of timber quickly and efficiently, meaning we can get your products to you faster.
