Melanie Weatherley MBE announced as speaker at major UK care events

Melanie Weatherley MBE, Chair of Lincolnshire Care Association (LinCA) will be speaking at two major social care events this spring, representing the thousands of care workers across the county.

With her vast experience in adult social care, Melanie will be leading on the topic of mitigating pressures on public health at the Westminster Health Forum policy conference in April, before joining the Care Roadshow in Birmingham as a panel speaker to help raise the profile of social care in May.

The events will look closely into the cost-of-living crisis and how this has impacted social care in the UK, as well as looking into what needs to be done to ease pressures and address immediate issues. Melanie will be offering her expertise to provide insight into the current issues Lincolnshire’s social care sector faces, and how these can be combatted through reform and support from central government.

Melanie is known as the voice of social care provision in Lincolnshire, representing 386 providers and 21,000 care workers in the region. A passionate advocate for the provision of home and community care, Melanie co-founded one of the largest domiciliary care providers in Lincolnshire, has chaired LinCA since 2016, and co-chairs the Care Association Alliance. In 2020, Melanie was appointed MBE for services to social care, including establishing the Care Home Trusted Assessor Scheme.
