Read MoreThe Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and Make UK, the manufacturers’ organisation, are delighted to announce a new strategic partnership designed to enhance support, collaboration, and representation for Lincolnshire’s thriving manufacturing and engineering sector.
This collaboration builds on the success of the Chamber’s recent sector-focused roundtable meetings, hosted at The Bridge and Fruehauf. These gatherings brought together local manufacturing and engineering professionals to share opportunities, tackle challenges, and build meaningful connections. From addressing skills shortages and supply chain issues to exploring growth strategies and innovation, the discussions highlighted the value of coming together to tackle real issues and help businesses grow.
Heloise Evans, Commercial Director, Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce commented: “The positive response from these events has underlined the importance of deeper collaboration, leading to the creation of this partnership. Manufacturing and engineering are vital to Lincolnshire’s economy. By working with Make UK, we can ensure our manufacturers are not only supported locally but also connected to national conversations, resources, and opportunities.”
By combining the Chamber’s local business knowledge, strong community connections, and sector expertise with Make UK’s national insight, this partnership will offer members a stronger collective voice on key industry issues. Further roundtables are planned for the remainder of the year, with Make UK playing an active role in shaping the discussions, and initiatives to address the real needs of the sector.
Chris Corkan, Region Director, Midlands and East of England, Make UK added:
“Manufacturing has long been a cornerstone of Lincolnshire, contributing over 20% of the local economy, far above the national average. The sector has grown significantly over the past decade and creates well-paid, skilled jobs, driving forward growth.
This partnership will strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem in the region. Helping to accelerate manufacturing businesses adoption of technology, innovation of new products, development of the existing workforce and sharing of industry best practice.
I look forward to working with the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce to build a strong partnership that ensures manufacturing remains central to the region’s long-term vision and economic success.”
Through these sector-specific discussions, local manufacturers will continue to connect with the contacts they need, tackle vital topics, and gain the practical insights to help their businesses thrive.
