Hegarty and Bourne Arts & Community Trust Celebrate Milestone with £6,000 Raised for Wake House

Hegarty and Bourne Arts & Community Trust Celebrate Milestone with £6,000 Raised for Wake House

Local law firm Hegarty, is starting the year on a high, having raised £6,000 in 2025 for Bourne Arts & Community Trust (BACT), which operates Wake House - smashing its original £4,000 target.

The fundraising total, is the result of a campaign in support of BACT and Wake House, the law firm’s chosen charity of the year in 2025.

The cherished Grade II listed community hub in Bourne is home to local charities, clubs, small businesses, and hosts Citizens Advice drop-in sessions three times a week.

Staff at Hegarty went the extra mile in their support, organising tombolas, bake sales, monthly dress-down days, and even rolling up their sleeves volunteering to help transform the gardens at Wake House, planting bee-friendly blooms and summer bulbs to enhance the space for local residents and visitors.

“We are delighted to have been able to raise much needed funds for such a worthwhile charity during 2025” said Ashley Sutherland, Partner and Head of the Charity Committee at Hegarty. “Wake House isn’t just a building with history - it’s a vital part of the Bourne community today. It’s been a privilege to support the team and see the direct impact our fundraising and volunteering has had.”

The connection is even more meaningful as Wake House once housed a solicitor’s office, creating a unique full-circle moment in local legal history.

Adele Read of Wake House added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Hegarty. Their support this year has made a real difference - not just financially, but in spirit too. Their team brought fresh energy, ideas, and practical help, which the whole community has felt.”

Hegarty, founded in 1974, is one of the region’s largest law firms with offices in Bourne, Market Deeping, Stamford, Oakham, and Peterborough. The firm provides legal services across property, family, probate, dispute resolution, and corporate law , with a strong focus on supporting its local communities.
