Sign Up for the First Greater Lincolnshire Jobs and Careers Fair

The first Greater Lincolnshire Online Jobs and Careers Fair will go live on Wednesday 11th November, giving employers and training organisations a chance to virtually meet people looking for work or training.

Next week’s event will be the first in a series of 12 live jobs fairs taking place monthly over the coming year and hosted on a new dedicated website: https://greaterlincsjobsfair.co.uk/.

For pre-launch details and FAQs see https://www.greaterlincolnshirelep.co.uk/priorities-and-plans/priorities/priority-skills/online-jobs-and-careers-fair/.

The fairs are being staged by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and each one will last for three hours. The first fair will take place on Wednesday 11th November between 12 noon and 3pm.

Employers and training organisations can take part as exhibitors with a virtual exhibition stand, and members of the public can visit and interact with the exhibitors, just like at a physical event.

Each exhibitor will have their own virtual space which will contain videos or other material such as job vacancies or a training brochure.

Visitors to the fair will be able to visit the website, browse the exhibitors, chat with the employer by instant messenger, Zoom or email, and they can send their CV direct to the employer.

The fairs are free to both exhibitors and visitors.

“These new free online jobs and career fairs are part of our response to the rise in unemployment across Greater Lincolnshire as a result of the pandemic, and this was something practical that the LEP wanted to do to bring together job seekers and employers in the area,” said Natalie Poole, Skills Delivery Manager at the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“The events will enable employers to advertise current vacancies, raise awareness of careers or training opportunities and talk directly to people attending via instant message or video link.

“There will be many different exhibitors at the fair, from large employers and small local businesses to college and training providers as well as skills and employment support services.

“We are expecting a wide range of visitors to the fair. Many will be adults who are looking for a new job because of the coronavirus pandemic, but we are also advertising to young people, school leavers, students and recent graduates.

“We will also be pleased to welcome visitors who are looking for a career change or who are simply looking for a new opportunity in their current sector.”
