Lincolnshire Construction & Property Network August

From sole traders to large housing associations, construction and property businesses come together to talk business at the Lincolnshire Chamber’s Construction Network.

This months Construction and Property Network is being hosting by Heritage Lincolnshire to showcase the  Greyfriars project. For this event we will be meeting at The Drill in Lincoln and as part of the event we will split into groups and go on a site tour of Greyfriars Lincoln for a unique glimpse into the restoration of this remarkable 13th-century Grade I listed building.

Closed since 2001, Greyfriars is a hidden gem in the heart of Lincoln, living in the heart of the community for nearly 800 years.

Thought to be one of the earliest surviving Franciscan friary buildings in western Europe and possibly the oldest surviving friary building in England, it dates from the 13th Century and has served as a home for the Franciscan friars, a free school, a knitting and spinning school, Mechanics Institute, house of correction and most recently, the county museum.

Reimagining Greyfriars is a project by Heritage Lincolnshire in partnership City of Lincoln Council that is traqnsforming the forgotten building of Greyfriars into a top-class venue for events and activities.

After an initial development grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund with match from the Architectural Heritage Fund and the Pilgrim Trust a total figure of over £3 million has been secured to bring Greyfriars back to life.

As a Chamber we want to ensure our networking events support our members and wider business community to make positive connections and to grow their networks.

At our events, we strongly encourage car sharing whenever possible. This not only helps reduce traffic congestion but also minimises our environmental impact. Thank you for helping us create a more sustainable and efficient event experience.

Chamber members and non-members are all welcome, and the price of admission includes tea, coffee and a light buffet lunch.

Some membership packages include a free ticket to networking events – if you’d like to honour this and book your place, email us on events@lincs-chamber.co.uk

Free Event Tickets can be redeemed towards this event.
