How to Develop and Promote a Carbon Neutral Business

With growing consumer, retailer and political interest in how our food is produced means that a sustainable business strategy is no longer an option for today’s food and drink businesses – it has to be a priority.

This webinar is aimed at food and drink producers who want to understand the steps to take in developing a roadmap for their sustainable strategy, how to promote it and the support that can be found locally. We will also be discussing the outcomes of COP26 and the implications for food and drink producers.

Our speakers will share their expertise, knowledge and experience in developing and promoting a carbon neutral business:

John Giles, Divisional Director at Promar International

Michael Bennett, Director, Pelican Communications

Dan Clayton, Sustainability Manager, Lincolnshire County Council

Emma Olivier -Townrow, Business Development Manager, Stokes Tea & Coffee

Professor Nick Tucker, University of Lincoln

Are you looking to develop a carbon neutral business but unsure of the steps to take? John works with food and drink businesses across the country and indeed the world to help them to highlight the key areas of consideration when developing a strategy and the important first principles.

How can you promote a sustainable business? With the recent announcement of the new Competition and Market Authority (CMA) rules to hold brands accountable for their sustainability claims, how can businesses create and promote a compliant sustainability strategy? Michael will share why now more than ever before businesses need to promote their sustainability credentials and why honesty is so important to the integrity of the brand.

Need support locally? Dan will guide us through the support that Lincolnshire County Council offers and the initiatives they are developing across the county. He will share details of the Lincoln Climate Commission and the opportunities for businesses to engage and seek support.

As a local business, Stokes Tea and Coffee focuses on operating responsibly, ethically and sustainably and is always looking at ways to improve processes and reduce their environmental impact. Stokes and the University of Lincoln have embarked on an exploratory project to upcycle waste products and Nick and Emma will share details about the project and the opportunities for the future.
