Do You Know Your Responsibilities as a Buyer or Seller?
Incoterms® are international rules that define the responsibilities of buyers and sellers in global trade, covering who arranges shipping, who pays for what, and when the risk passes from seller to buyer.
Incoterms are made up of three letter acronyms (e.g. FCA, DAP, EXW) each with different rules about costs, risks and responsibilities. There are 11 incoterms in total.
Using the wrong Incoterm® can cause delays, extra costs, disputes, or missed payments. That’s why it’s important for businesses in global trade to know how and when to use each term correctly.
