Read MoreOn Friday 24 June, Ongo hosted an event at their Cole Street office in Scunthorpe to help local people get into work as part of their Employability Day celebrations. It was an opportunity for organisations to highlight the opportunities they have to help people gain employment. Over 120 people attended the event, with more than 50 referrals for support made and clients signed up for jobs and employment support. This year’s event showcased the excellent opportunities and support they have available, such as supporting people to progress in their career, traineeships for 16-18 year olds and much more.
Regina Dalmeida, Enterprise Manager at Ongo, said: “The event was a great success! We had new and existing clients turn up on the day and it was great to see so many new faces. I love doing events like this, it makes it all worthwhile when you see the success of people getting into work.”
They also invited local businesses along to showcase any employment and study opportunities available. Businesses there on the day included, Hales Home Care, Juj Taxis, IAC (International Automotive Components), UCNL university campus, Foresight, Rdash, Greene King and Skills centre plus. Goodie bags, prizes, networking, and lunch was also provided on the day, along with music from local band Opulence and busker and Ongo tenant, Holly Fincham.
