For all goods arriving on or after 1st January 2022, pre lodged import declarations must be made.

Introduction of GVMS – The Goods Vehicle Movement System is a platform for moving goods through UK ports. Hauliers if not registered will need to register for the service to get your goods through customs. Ports using GVMS will require pre lodged declaration references to be linked with a GMR (Goods Movement Reference) from 1st January 2022.

Amendments to some Commodity Codes on the UK Trade Tariff – please be aware from January 2022 there are 351 sets of amendments to UK Commodity Codes taking place, affecting over 5500 classifications. Make sure you check your codes before you trade from 1st Jan 2022.

Expiry on Easement on suppliers’ declarations & preferential rates of duty –From 1st January 2022 if you export goods from the UK to the EU you must hold the supplier’s declaration at the time of issuing the statement on origin.
