Can you help vulnerable children in East Yorkshire, Yorkshire Coast & Lincolnshire? Cash for Kids launches annual Mission Christmas appeal and they need your help…

The largest Christmas toy appeal in the UK, ‘Mission Christmas’ is back – and they need you! Today Cash for Kids kickstarted their annual appeal to listeners and locals to buy one extra gift to help thousands of disadvantaged children in East Yorkshire, Yorkshire Coast & Lincolnshire.

A campaign from charity Cash for Kids, in 2024 Mission Christmas collected £14.8 million in gifts and cash donations, which was used to make sure that 289,596 children and young people had presents to open on Christmas Day. Locally, this meant that 10,205 in the East Yorkshire, East Yorkshire Coast & Lincolnshire were able to open a gift on the big day.

Furthermore, each year Cash for Kids partners with Stagecoach East Midlands to run their “Fill the Bus Tour” visiting businesses and local shopping areas to collect gifts on the Mission Christmas Bus. The plans are in full swing for this but week commencing 1st Dec the bus will be in East Yorkshire and Hull, and week commencing 8th Dec it will visit locations across Lincolnshire with some fun and games, and collecting gifts!

Messages from the team and beneficiaries of Cash for Kids;

‘We had one family who had a very difficult time before the Christmas period with the dad losing his job and being unable to buy presents for his children. We were able to help by gifting toys for his three children.

Dad has since commented that he was touched by the kindness and generosity of the community. How it took some of the financial worry away from his Christmas and allowed him to enjoy watching the children open and play with their gifts on Christmas day.’

‘Just what I have always wanted- thank you so much! There is a real Santa.’

‘One mother who had fled domestic abuse and taken her three small children with her, was so close to tears when the social worker took some gifts for the children. Mother has said she had nothing to give to her children.’

Once again as the cost of living continues to hit families across the UK, the charity is anticipating a huge level of demand for their support. This year across East Yorkshire, Yorkshire Coast & Lincolnshire we have already received applications on behalf of over 10,000 children.

Supporters of the campaign can take their gifts to a number of drop-off points near them, including local Wickes stores. Simply head to our website and enter your postcode to find the drop-off point closest to you.

Supporters can also buy a gift online which will be delivered directly to the purchaser’s nearest Mission HQ for no delivery fee. Just head to https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/donate/mission-christmas-2025-gift-list-easy-yorkshire-lincolnshire/ to browse the gift list. Alternatively, you can text GOOD to 70910 to donate £10 and the Cash for Kids team will buy a gift on your behalf.

Cash for Kids works with thousands of grass-root organisations across the UK who support disadvantaged children (0 – 18 years). Throughout the Mission Christmas campaign, these organisations along with social workers, head teachers and the emergency services nominate families in crisis to be supported by the appeal.
