Chamber Network assistance for the India support campaign

You will no doubt have seen the media coverage on the COVID-19 crisis in India, with shortages of oxygen and hospitals in Delhi and many other cities running out of beds due to a devastating second wave.

Whilst the UK government is considering how it will support with much-needed supplies, our Chamber Network has ably demonstrated in the past how business communities have rallied to help in the effort.

The UK India Business Council (UKIBC) and UNICEF, have launched campaigns in partnership with UK and Indian governments:

UKIBC: Message from UKUBC Chair: Call for support for India to tackle COVID-19 second wave.

UNICEF: Urgent appeal to private sector to help address the COVID-19 second wave in India.

The urgent needs are very specific:

• Empty, refillable oxygen cylinders with 10 litres and 45 litres LMO capacity;
• Oxygen concentrators;
• in situ oxygen manufacturing plants for hospitals; and
• Remdesivir.

If you are able to help with these specific items, please urgently get in touch with the UKIBC or UNICEF.
